Phase One is a safe hike from the Big Bald parking lot 0.75 miles to get to the trail head and another 0.25 miles into the forest with a decent of around 100'.
From there is the unknown path to Tommy Rock which is another 0.25 miles with a 250' descent. Obstructing any visible routes is acres of rhododendrons and/or mountain laurels.
